A useful website has a purpose

Good businesses deserve better websites.

A website shouldn't exist simply because every business is expected to have one. It should make your business easier to understand, easier to trust and easier to buy from.

We start with the business, the customer and what the website actually needs to accomplish. The design and technology come after that.

What we do

Websites that have a job to do.

Whether you're replacing something that has fallen behind or starting from scratch, the aim is the same: build something that works properly for both the business and the people using it.

01

New websites

Modern, responsive websites designed around your business, customers and goals rather than forcing everything into a generic template.

02

Website rebuilds

If your current website feels dated, confusing or no longer reflects the business you've become, we'll work out what should stay, what should change and rebuild it properly.

03

Bookings & integrations

Booking systems, calendars, forms, analytics and other useful tools can be integrated into the customer journey instead of being treated as separate add-ons.

04

Digital foundations

Responsive design, accessibility, performance, search-engine fundamentals and analytics are considered as part of the build from the beginning.

Need something that doesn't fit neatly into a box? That's usually where the useful work starts.

  2. 02
Check live availabilityBeds24 is integrated into the customer journey.
  3. 03
Choose the right stayAccommodation and starting prices are clearer before commitment.

The existing website contained plenty of useful information, but visitors had to work to understand the different accommodation, pricing and availability. Checking dates meant completing an enquiry form and waiting for Fern Fields to respond.

We rebuilt the experience around the questions a prospective guest actually needs answered:

Where can I stay? What does it cost? Are my dates available? What should I expect?
01

Clearer accommodation

Five different ways to stay are presented individually, with their own information, imagery, pricing and booking route.

02

Less booking friction

Guests can check their dates through the website rather than beginning with a manual availability enquiry.

03

Built for international guests

English and French versions are live, with the architecture designed to support further languages.

04

Stronger foundations

Responsive design, analytics, Search Console, structured content, SEO foundations and modern deployment sit behind the new experience.

How we work

Less theatre. More useful work.

A good website doesn't start with choosing colours or deciding how many pages to build. It starts with understanding what the business needs the website to do.

  1. 01

    Understand

We learn about the business, its customers, how the current website works and where the real problems are.

  2. 02

    Plan

We structure the content, pages, customer journeys and systems before getting buried in visual design.

  3. 03

    Design & build

The website is designed responsively and developed as a working product, with clear opportunities to review progress as it takes shape.

  4. 04

    Launch

We test the important journeys, connect the required services, prepare the site for search engines and launch it properly.

About Diablo Studio

Small studio.
Direct relationship.

Diablo Studio is an independent website and digital-systems studio founded by Daniel Barnes.

After building websites and digital products for his own businesses, Daniel began applying the same product-led approach to websites for other businesses.

You work directly with the person designing and building the website. There isn't an account-management layer sitting between the business and the work being done.

The aim isn't to build the most complicated website we can. It's to build the website your business actually needs.

Start a project

Your current website doesn't have to be terrible to be worth improving.

If it feels dated, difficult to use, difficult to manage or simply no longer represents the business you've become, tell us what's not working.

No sales presentation. Start with a conversation.

Project enquiry

Tell us a little about the business and what you'd like to improve. You do not need a finished brief.
